Festo presents their AirPenguin flying high at Electra Mining 2016!


Regarded as leaders in innovation, Festo will present their AirPenguin and showcase their latest products for the mining sector at Electra Mining Africa 2016.

Festo is proud to be exhibiting at Stand A9 in Hall 5 at this huge event. They will also be one of four sponsors for the show. A key focus area for Festo is the mining industry. They will have an extensive range of pneumatic and process automation products and solutions on offer as well some of their latest training equipment. Their most impressive offering at the show will undoubtedly be their famous AirPenguin!

The AirPenguin is a product from Festo’s research division, the Bionic Learning Network. This division is inspired by animals in nature and the tasks they perform with such ease and efficiency such as gripping, moving, controlling and measuring. Whether as individual components or part of a system, automation technology carries out similar tasks every day.

Electra Mining 2016 will once again see Astore Africa a member of the Hudaco Group and a leading supplier of the most comprehensive range of thermoplastic pipe fittings, valves and pipeline accessories in all recognised materials as well as plastic welding equipment showcase its range of high quality products suited for a variety of industries utilising pressured pipe systems.

Electra Mining Africa and co-located shows Elenex Africa, the exciting new Powerex show and the Transport Expo will be taking place from 12-16 September at the Expo Centre in Johannesburg. It’s an informative 4-in-1 show experience. On view will be a vast array of products, services and technologies from the over 850 leading local exhibitors and international exhibitors.

In addition to the unveiling of new products, visitors will also have the opportunity to watch live product demonstrations, enter lucky draws and competitions, engage with technical experts and participate in the daily free-to-attend seminars.

Taking place from 12-16 September at the Expo Centre in Johannesburg, Electra Mining Africa 2016 will be host to over 850 local and international exhibitors and unveiling many new products and technologies.

This is the place where Africa’s mining, industrial and power sectors will meet. As Southern Africa’s largest trade show and one of the world’s largest mining exhibitions, Electra Mining Africa will provide the local mining and related industries with a valuable platform for engagement, collaboration, interaction and networking.

Supply Group Established to Support the Shaft Sinking, Equipment and Services industry in South Africa


The South African Capital Equipment Export Council (SACEEC) is pleased to announce the establishment of the South African Shaft Sinking, Equipment and Services (SASSES) supply group. Geared at assisting local manufacturers supplying into the shaft sinking, equipment and services industry to further the development of the supply chain for greater market access both locally and internationally.

The supply group will be championed by Elena Diez del Corral of Expectra and Ted Cruickshank of WEBA SA. An impressive list of South African manufacturers are already committed to participating, including Vula Drilling, WJ Engineering, Master Drilling, Ryonic Industries, George Stott & Co, Fabchem, WEBA SA, Expectra and Fermel.

The South African Capital Equipment Export Council (SACEEC) is a non-profit organisation established as a public-private partnership between the South African capital goods manufacturers, service providers and the South African Department of Trade and Industry (the dti). The SACEEC is mandated to facilitate the globalisation of its members.


Voith to unveil latest materials-handling technology at Electra Mining Africa 2016


Voith has long provided top-line fluid couplings for use in belt conveyors, AFC and crusher drives, in addition to highly-efficient drive solutions. In 2015 it added the field-proven systems of mining conveying manufacturer Hese Maschinenfabrik to its portfolio.

Thus it is now able to offer an even broader range of products for mining and materials-handling customers, which will all be showcased at Electra Mining Africa 2016 at Expo Centre Nasrec from 12 to 16 September 2016.
