Over 850 local and international exhibitors from the mining, industrial, electrical and power industries will be showcasing their products and services across 38,000m² net space of indoor/outdoor exhibition area at Electra Mining Africa. Taking place from 12-16 September at the Expo Centre in Johannesburg, the trade exhibition will provide the local mining and related industries with a valuable platform for engagement, collaboration, interaction and networking.
The largest trade show in Southern Africa and ranked as one of the world’s largest mining shows, Electra Mining Africa is a premier networking event which will add real value to an industry looking for cost-effective, innovative solutions.
“Many of our exhibitors will be launching new products at the show and there will be daily live demonstrations of machinery and equipment, interactive product displays, simulation booths and technical presentations,” says Gary Corin, Managing Director of Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery, organisers of the show.
Having secured the foremost market position with its Pedestrian Detection System (PDS), Booyco Electronics has launched its fully integrated Asset Protection System (APS) for surface equipment.
Anton Lourens, managing director of Booyco Electronics, says that the APS represents latest generation technology and facilitates effective communication between surface vehicles.
“Visitors to the Booyco Electronics stand at Electra Mining Africa 2016 will be able to experience first-hand how we have leveraged this electronic technology to enhance vehicle and operator safety in surface mining operations,” Lourens says.
He explains that as a leading supplier of reliable innovative mine safety related products, Booyco Electronics combines its in-depth understanding of conditions in both underground and surface mining operations with best practice engineering and manufacturing expertise to produce a line-up of technologically proficient solutions.
Africa’s leading manufacturer of energy efficient luminaires, BEKA Schréder, is set to launch its new Roughguard LED industrial luminaire into the local market at the upcoming Electra Mining Africa 2016 exhibition taking place in Johannesburg in September.
The Roughguard LED has been designed to be used in industrial corrosive and harsh environments. It will be manufactured using a high-pressure die-cast marine grade aluminum with a robust clear polycarbonate diffuser. The vandal proof polycarbonate diffuser is secured to the body by six stainless steel Allen head tamper proof screws.
With applications like police and prison cells, railway stations, underground parking areas, mining workshops and others, where vandalism and corrosive elements are prevalent, the Roughguard LED will be able to not only withstand these environments but to also efficiently provide light exactly where it is needed.
The ongoing commodities slump has resulted in restricted budgets in mining and associated industries, which can benefit from a range of innovative and cost-effective solutions being displayed at the 2016 Electra Mining event by Banding & ID Solutions Africa.
